Our Mission

The mission of the South Sound Story Guild is to foster an appreciation for the art and tradition of storytelling in our community.

Some of us are just starting out on the path of storytelling, while others have been telling for many years. Some members are folklore enthusiasts; others just love to listen to a well-spun tale. What unites us is a passion for the oral tradition of storytelling.

Talk to us!

Discussions and more can now be found inside our new Facebook Group.

Monthly Storytelling

From September to June, on the second Wednesday of each month, we gather from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

For now, you'll find us in the South Lobby at the Olympia Center, 222 Columbia Street NW, in downtown Olympia. Keep an eye on this page because we may be moving sometime this year.

On these second Wednesdays, a different storyteller each month will put together a 30- to 45-minute program to share with us. After a few announcements, other Guild members and brave visitors will have an opportunity to share stories for the rest of the evening.

Our calendar has more details and can be found here: Storytelling Calendars.
